Climate Change May Be Giving the Deep Sea Little Room to Breathe

Nestled between Canada’s Labrador Peninsula and the island of Greenland is an arm of the North Atlantic Ocean known as the Labrador Sea. The sea is also known as the “ocean’s lung” due to its role in providing oxygen all the way to the depths of the sea and beyond. However, climate change may put the oceanic arm’s role in underwater ecosystems at risk.
