In 2009, a remarkable event occurred in the NGC 6946 galaxy when a star flared brightly, only to mysteriously vanish. Astronomers initially believed it had exhausted its fuel, but rather than undergoing the typical supernova transformation, it appeared to have collapsed into a black hole.
