Suddenly, the tower vanished in a billowing cloud of smoke and light\u2014so much so that the surrounding mountains appeared brighter than they did during daytime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was, after all, the aftermath of the first nuclear weapons test detonation, nicknamed \u201cTrinity.\u201d The man was Robert J.
