The electromagnetic force, which is familiar to most people, is an example of a gauge field. This new theory seeks to describe gravity in a similar way, allowing it to align with the other three fundamental forces\u2014electromagnetism, weak nuclear force, and strong nuclear force\u2014without the incompatibilities of general relativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This breakthrough could change scientists&#8217; understanding of extreme environments, like black holes or the early universe after the Big Bang, where current theories fail. The new theory might eventually solve these problems by describing gravitational interactions at tiny scales, helping to bridge the gap between the universe\u2019s smallest particles and the biggest structures in space.
