Nature Bites gives us a glimpse into one of Sir David Attenborough’s 2012 expeditions to Pinta Island in Ecuador—home of “Lonesome George,” the aptly-named last member of the species of tortoise (Chelonoidis niger abingdonii). (“Lonesome George” died on June 24, 2012.)
