The pH scale, commonly used to measure acidity, is not suitable for comparing the strength of superacids, as it only measures the concentration of hydronium ions in water. Superacids, including carborane acids, are stronger than traditional acids like sulfuric acid and cannot be accurately measured using the pH scale.
